Job Description:

The Oncology Nurse Navigator functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team as an advocate and educator for patients from the decision to treat throughout the continuum of care, including diagnostic studies, diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment, and survivorship. The Oncology Nurse Navigator builds a relationship with patients and physicians to coordinate a plan of care including appointments, education, provision and/or enablement of support services and representation within the multidisciplinary care environment. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the management of resources to achieve efficient, high quality outcomes for each cancer patient including support for interdisciplinary and cross facility collaboration. Ensures appropriate coordination of care between the patient, family, the multidisciplinary team members, and outside agencies to ensure continuity of care and optimal clinical outcomes and resource management. The Oncology Nurse Navigator acts as an advocate and point of contact for the patient and caregiver to ensure appropriate management of the patient’s healthcare needs, providing expertise in disease and symptom management to the patient while at Cancer Treatment Centers of America and at home.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN licensure for the state from an accredited college

  • BLS/CPR certified

  • BSN

  • OCN certification preferred

  • 3 years clinical oncology experience

  • 1 year experience in Case Management and/or similar role preferred

  • Current ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy provider certification or attain during orientation
