Job Description:

Hours: FT, M - F, 40hrs per week between 7:30am - 5:30pm

The Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) or equivalent is a key stakeholder in a multifaceted role that facilitates the smooth flow of the patients through the clinic. The CMA/RMA performs delegated patient care tasks for an assigned patient population. They perform clinical tasks as well as administrative duties assigned by the Department Leader to facilitate the care of patients. They will function under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager, Director, Medical Oncologist, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for patient care activities utilizing all aspects of their training. This position is responsible for assisting clinicians in providing medical care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience. The Certified/Registered Medical Assistant performs all responsibilities in accordance with policy and procedure guidelines. Their assignments, evaluations and their reporting structure is to the Practice Manager and/or Director. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant (MA) Training Program


  •  Completion of an unapproved medical assistant training program and passage of the medical assistant examination administered by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or other national certification/registration programs;


  • Completion of a United States Armed Forces medical services training program.

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • One year exp within the last three years in a comparable job classification.

  • Relevant specialty experience;

  • Minimum of three years medical assistant or nursing assistant experience in a hospital or clinic setting.


  • High school diploma or equivalent

Special Skills

  • Strong multitasking skills completing both Clinical and Clerical tasks.


  • Phlebotomy, EKG, Glucometer Testing, EHR and Clinical Program Utilization, Transcription
